whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:25

Dear Family and Friends,

It has been an eventful week! We have lots of miracles and disappointments. I guess that's how life is. But we are happy and healthy and grateful to our Heavenly Father for the opportunity we have to serve Him.

One of the sweetest moments this week was spent with a part member family. This is their pet pig, Wilbur.

This family is going through a hard time right now as granny spends the last days of her life with them. We came by a couple times this week to help clean up the house since there is a lot to do. One night, as we were about to leave we saw granny looking through a hymn book. We asked if they were going to sing. They said they were picking out songs for the funeral. But then they asked us if we would sing. We agreed and did our best to sing. The Spirit came so strongly and as we hugged everyone goodbye, they thanked us sincerely.

Sometimes, missionary work seems to focus so much on baptism, or other big gospel markers in our lives. What I have found is that some of the greatest joys I have experienced as a missionary, is just serving others.

I read a quote this morning that said:

"You will find that the true key to happiness is to labor for the happiness of others."

I love serving the Lord. Being a missionary is a unique opportunity to walk into people lives, hardly knowing them, and helping them come closer Christ, through feeling of His love for them.

I hope we all have opportunities this week to lose ourselves in the service of one of our brothers or sisters!I know we are all children of the same loving Father.
